Public hiking trails are available at the following Parks:
Bellepoint (Todd) Park offers a short, paved walking trail.
Capitol View Park provides 10 miles of hiking trails, including a scenic view of the Kentucky River. Please note that mountain bikes are also allowed on this trail. Be aware of your surroundings at all times.
Cove Spring has 6 miles of hiking/walking trails on varied terrain, which includes paved, unpaved and boardwalk surfaces. A portion of the trail is handicap accessible. During your hike, expect to see beautiful flowers, streams, waterfalls and other natural and historic features.
Juniper Hill has a .5 mile loop paved walking trail. This is the perfect place for an afternoon walk and a visit to one of the Park's memorials.
Leslie Morris (Fort Hill) provides 2.5 miles of paved and un-paved hiking trails. Stop by for a photo opportunity at the overlook of Downtown Frankfort. You will also have the opportunity to visit two Civil War earthwork forts. Guided tours are also available April - October. Register here!
River View Park offers approximately two miles of walking trails along the Kentucky River.
Thorobred Trail is scenic 0.9-mile trail with entry at both the lower and upper end. The upper end of the trail is accessible next to the Exum Center on the KSU campus.
